received were spectacular, TGA plans to make blank note cards
that can be used all year long,
and will feature additional entries. Stay posted to our web
site for details and order forms.

We had a record number of entries this year, more than
180 photographs from more than 56 photographers in nine countries.
All entries submitted to the
2007 Sister Cities Photography Contest will on display at
various locations throughout this year and next year. Display
locations will be announced here as they are determined.
2007 Seasons Around
the World
CONTEST GUIDELINES AND RULES

Submit your photos that capture the seasons
of your world. All photos properly submitted will be placed
on display in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with a premiere opening party
to celebrate our Sister Cities photography.
ENTRY FORM: Please print off one of
the forms below. Fill out and return with your submitted photographs.
See Options For Submission below. Be sure to read guidelines
and rules carefully to ensure proper submission.
PRIZES: One Grand Prize of $300; four
First Place Awards of $100; and seven Honorable Mentions of
$50.
ELIGIBILITY: The contest is open to
anyone, professional or amateur.
CATEGORIES: Photos will be judged the
following:
One Overall Winner, which will be featured on the cover
of the calendar.
Four First Place Winners, one for each season, Spring,
Summer, Fall, Winter, which will be featured on their corresponding
months.
Seven Honorable Mentions, which will fill in the remaining
months of the calendar.
JUDGING: A panel of professional photographers
will judge entries based on content, quality and artistry
of image.
DEADLINE: Tulsa Global Alliance must
receive entries on or before September 1, 2007. Winners
will be notified early October. Winning photos will be displayed
in Tulsa at various locations throughout the 2007 and 2008.
RULES OF THE CONTEST: Entry forms are
available for download at www.tulsaglobalalliance.org.
- Each participant may only submit photos taken
in one of the Sister Cities or Tulsa. Photos must be your
original work and must not be previously published or
used in any other photography contests.
- Each Participant may submit up to four (4) photos, black
and white or color. All photos - past or present - are
accepted.
- Each entry must be submitted as an 8" x 10"
or larger digital or print. Under-sized submissions
will be disqualified. Digital photographs must be at least
300 dpi. and submitted in .jpg (JPEG) or .tiff (TIFF)
format only. DO NOT mat or frame prints.
- Modifications NOT Permitted: No borders, frames,
signatures, watermarks, copyright notices, clip art, text
or computer-rendered images may be added to photographs.
Adding or replacing elements in a photograph is not permitted.
Artistic filters are not permitted.
- Permitted Modifications: Images may be
cropped or resized, as necessary. Red-eye removal, spot
editing, and enhancements such as "Auto Levels"
are permitted. Use of filters to sharpen, soften, blur,
despeckle, or remove noise are allowed. Use of corrective
functions to improve the natural appearance of the image,
such as contrast, brightness, curves, intensity, tone,
hue, saturation, lightness, value, color balance, and
tint are allowed. In short, we want to see your photography
skills and the natural beauty of your city, not your computer-editing
skills.
- Nudity and obscenity will not be allowed. Any photos
judged to be obscene by TGA will be disqualified.
- Once submitted, photographers agree to allow Tulsa Global
Alliance to keep all entries received, and that TGA retains
the right to use the photos in its publications and promotional
materials. All efforts will be made to credit photographers
when their photographs are used.
LABELING: A label must be attached
to the back of each photo and include the artist's name, title
of the photo, date and/or year photo was taken, season the
photo represents and name of the Sister City in which the
photo was taken.
PHOTOS MUST BE LABELLED PROPERLY OR THE PHOTO WILL BE DISQUALIFIED!
OPTIONS FOR SUBMISSION:
A. Email individual, labeled, digital pictures
in JPEG (.jpg) or TIFF (.tiff) format with digitally-completed
Entry Form as an attachment,
B. Mail (by post) CD of labeled, digital pictures in
JPEG (.jpg) or TIFF (.tiff) format with printed and completed
Entry Form,
C. Mail (by post) printed unmated/unframed photos size
8"x 10" or larger with printed and completed Entry
Form.
