Since March 1987
Tulsa and Beihai have actively participated in yearly student exchanges. Tulsa high school students travel to Beihai every year to immerse in the language and culture, while also participating in philanthropic endeavors such as visiting the local orphanage.
Our Tulsa students deliver needed supplies and provide much needed attention to the orphanage children. New play equipment was recently provided by Tulsa humanitarians for this orphanage.
Beihai youth have won the Sister Cities Young Artist competition at the national level twice. Tulsa teachers have participated in educational exchanges with Beihai’s English teachers, and Beihai youth have enjoyed home stays in Tulsa.
