Oklahoma State University School of Global Studies and Partnerships

The Oklahoma State University School of Global Studies and Partnerships (SGSP) serves as the focal point for OSU’s global engagement and legacy. The School has developed several educational, research and outreach programs on a global scale and oversees active partnerships in dozens of countries. SGSP’s students, faculty, and alumni have an impact in more than 55 countries, and the School is dedicated to creating knowledge and sharing it with the global community, in keeping with its commitment as a land-grant institution. SGSP consists of the School of Global Studies, which is celebrating its 20 th anniversary this year, the Study Abroad Office, the Wes Watkins Center for In International Trade Development, the English Language Institute, the U.S.– UPAEP Liaison Office, the China Programs Office and the Office of International Students and Scholars.

Cathryn Render

Cathy Render, co-owner and vice president of RVALLC, a Tulsa-based nationally and internationallyrecognized market research firm, became an active and enthusiastic supporter of Tulsa GlobalAlliance in the 1990s when her children “discovered” TGA’s International Youth Coalition of Tulsa and the world-broadening opportunities of Kids’ World, student exchanges, and Sister City visits. For two decades, she consistently served TGA, including two terms on the Board and multiple leadership positions, most recently as 2017-2018 Board Chair. She worked tirelessly to strengthen TGA’s development efforts, board structure, and global education programs, and led the effort to establish TGA’s Passports to Global Education program in partnership with the Tulsa City-County Library.

General Thomas P. Stafford (Lifetime Achievement Award)

Throughout his career, General Thomas P. Stafford has flown more than 100 different types of aircraft as he pushed the envelope of our achievement in air and space. He flew in space on Gemini VI, Gemini IX, Apollo X, and the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project in 1975, the first international space docking. The Apollo-Soyuz Test Project promoted goodwill between the United States and Soviet Union and led to a thaw in the Cold War. He has been an advisor to several U.S. Presidents on space policy and a spokesperson about the importance of international space cooperation.
